The crew of Azerbaijani ships detained in Eritrea has been successfully brought back to Azerbaijan after being held since November 7 of the previous year. The crew members, citizens of Azerbaijan, were part of the CMS Pahlavan, CMS Igid, and CMS-3 vessels operated by the Azerbaijan branch of Caspian Marine Services B.V. The return of the crew was the result of extensive negotiations conducted by the Azerbaijani government, following the instructions of the head of state and with the coordination of various ministries and organizations, including the Foreign Ministry and Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Closed Joint-Stock Company.

Throughout the crew’s time in Eritrea, they received consular support from the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ethiopia, ensuring their needs were met in an orderly manner. The Azerbaijani Ministry expressed gratitude to the Embassy of Türkiye in the State of Eritrea for their direct assistance during the process of bringing the crew members back to Azerbaijan.
