Three of the four Ilonggo crew members from the cargo ship MV Eternity C, which was attacked by Houthi rebels in the Red Sea, have returned to Iloilo. Families and officials from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) 6 and the Public Employment Service Office-Iloilo welcomed them home. Among the returning crew is Rodmel Canto from Oton, while the others hail from San Miguel and Iloilo City.
The attack occurred on July 8, 2025, and while the three seafarers are now safe, the fourth crew member from San Miguel has opted to remain in Metro Manila for the time being.
Although the returning crew declined interviews with GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas, OWWA 6 is committed to providing them with psychosocial counseling to support their recovery.
The search continues for four other crew members from Western Visayas who remain among the 13 individuals reported missing following the incident. Authorities are actively working to locate them as the situation unfolds.
