Statement from the International Chamber of Shipping on U.S.-Iran Ceasefire
Thomas A. Kazakos, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping, expressed support for the recent conditional ceasefire between the United States and Iran, viewing it as a potential pathway to regional stability. Kazakos extended condolences to those civilians and seafarers who have suffered injuries or lost their lives due to the conflict. He underscored the urgent need for a return to freedom of navigation in the region, stressing that it is crucial for states to collaborate with the shipping industry to facilitate safe and unhindered passage through the Strait.
