NYK Bulk & Projects Carriers has recently secured a timer charter agreement with Kambara Kisen for a methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier. The 65,700dwt vessel, currently being built at Tsuneishi Shipbuilding, is set to be delivered in spring 2025. This marks a significant milestone as it will be the first methanol-fueled bulk carrier to be operated by the NYK Group. The ultramax vessel is designed to primarily run on bio-methanol and e-methanol, and will be utilized for transporting a variety of cargoes such as grain and ore.
