In October, a new pool of 13 ships was launched, with 11 coming from the existing joint venture between NYK and Stolt Tankers, and two from ENEOS Ocean. The partnership with Stolt Tankers, which has over 30 years of experience in the chemical tanker business, and ENEOS Ocean, with a focus on crude oil tankers, has allowed NYK to enter the chemical tanker pool operation. NYK Executive Officer, Yuji Nishijima, expressed delight in taking this step based on the strong relationships with both companies.
ENEOS Ocean Corporation Director, Executive Officer Masahito Hirano, emphasized the aim of the pool to provide detailed and attentive transportation services to meet customer needs and achieve greater safety in operations. Additionally, the company is committed to addressing specific environmental measures to adapt to the changing business environment. Stolt Tankers sees the pool as a way to expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
