Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a series of initiatives related to the country’s inland water. It marked the debut of the world’s longest river cruise from Varanasi to Dibrugarh, transporting a foreign tourist ship repair shop at the inland waterway port of Pandu in Guwahati, which had been dormant for several years holds. The Calcutta facility will be complemented by the new ship repair facility.
