THE Online Booking Corp. (TOBC) was launched on February 19, at Citadines Bay Hotel Manila, offering a digital solution to streamline the maritime training enrollment process. The platform, founded by a team of professionals with extensive experience in the maritime industry, aims to address the challenges seafarers face with manual enrollment processes. The team is composed of Maritime crewing veteran Elmer Pulumbarit, Evangeline Sawad, and lawyer Joanne Pasion.
The launch of TOBC marks a significant milestone in maritime education and training (MET), empowering seafarers with the tools they need to advance their careers, meet regulatory requirements, and ensure their safety at sea. The platform provides a centralized place for seafarers to find, compare, and enroll in maritime training courses, making professional development more accessible and efficient. TOBC was born out of a recognition of the challenges seafarers face in accessing quality training, and aims to enhance the training experience and support training providers in reaching a wider audience.
Traditional manual booking systems in maritime training are time-consuming and often lead to delays and missed opportunities. TOBC’s founders leveraged their industry insights to create a solution that enhances seafarers’ training experience and supports training providers in reaching a wider audience. The platform offers a comprehensive range of maritime training courses, catering to the needs of both new entrants and seasoned professionals in the maritime sector, ensuring that all seafarers have the opportunity to enhance their skills and comply with international maritime regulations.
