Maritime data products provider OrbitMI has integrated with the SEDNA all-in-one solution to enable users instant access to data across platforms, centralising voyage status, position alerts, estimated time of arrivals, speed and consumption in one place. With the integration of the two platforms testing aboard tanker shipping company Stena Bulk, the rollout will now be available to the worldwide shipping sector, helping to create one singular place for vessel data to be stored.

SEDNA founder and CEO Bill Dobie believes that the cooperation between the two firms offers the maritime industry a more modern, unified way of working that will both increase supply chain transparency, reduce the risk of decision errors and boost collaboration and data sharing. The integration extends an existing May 2021 partnership between both companies and enables the double functionality of accessing data from a web browser or the SEDNA mobile app.

Phil Thompson, Stena Bulk’s general manager of commercial operations, tested the integration and commented that it could transform the way maritime industry professionals worked. OrbitalMI CEO Ali Riaz emphasised that his company’s “smart connected workflows” and easy access to crucial information stemming from the two platforms represented a significant potential time saver for workers now able to perform their primary tasks more efficiently.
