Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Secretary Sudhansh Pant has directed the Visakhapatnam Ports Authority (VPA) to expedite the works on the cruise berth in the outer port as soon as possible as it is the Union Government’s prestigious project.

He visited VPA and the Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCI) on Saturday to review the companies’ performance. VPA and DCI Chairman K. Rama Mohana Rao coordinated the review meetings.

Mr. Pant focused on the operation of PPP berths and Green Port initiatives of the VPA during the review meeting. The port authorities presented a PowerPoint presentation to cover the status of cargo handling, financial performance of VPA, road and rail connectivity, capacity increase, modernization and mechanization of berths, flyover development, truck parking terminal, construction of covered storage sheds and to show the electrification of VPA railway tracks, modernization of the fishing port and status in the NLP marine portal.
