Telenor Maritime and AT&T have partnered to offer 5G roaming services to cruise and ferry passengers worldwide. AT&T’s Cruise International Day Pass allows customers to use their phone plan at home while on selected ships, with a cost of $15 per 24-hour period. This partnership will benefit millions of passengers on Telenor Maritime’s network of over 280 ships, providing them with the ability to stay connected with their loved ones.
Håkon Berdal, commercial roaming manager at Telenor Maritime, expressed excitement about the new roaming product, highlighting the companies’ commitment to enhancing the passenger experience through seamless connectivity solutions. The Cruise Day Pass eliminates the need for passengers to pre-pay for services, as they only pay when they use the pass for calls, texts, or data. This collaboration between Telenor Maritime and AT&T aims to transcend traditional maritime communication boundaries and provide passengers with a more convenient and connected experience while at sea.
