The Sagar Parikrama is a government initiative to tour all coastal states and union territories to support fishermen, traders and other stakeholders linked to the sector. The aim of the program is to respond to the concerns of fishermen and promote their economic development through the implementation of various fisheries programs such as Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). The Minister for Fisheries, Livestock and Dairy interacted with officials who are actively involved in promoting shrimp growth in the country.
The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is a popular program that has opened a simple savings bank account for people who don’t have a bank account. The aim of the program is to give vulnerable classes and low-income groups access to financial services. The program was launched within two weeks to promote financial inclusion and has become a role model for many. As of May 17, 2023, there were Rs.1,97,193.68 crore in deposits in banks under this scheme, and a total of 32.73 million people had Jan Dhan accounts.
Under Narendra Modi’s leadership, all beneficiaries of various central government programs will receive their money directly into their bank accounts without delay. The union minister praised the BJP government’s initiative for farmers and fishermen and highlighted India’s achievements in becoming a world leader. The minister also praised the way Prime Minister Modi handled the Covid-19 situation, stating that India not only made domestic vaccines but also helped other countries during the pandemic.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands BJP President Ajoy Bairagi announced the introduction of a “Jan Sanjog Yatra” in the islands from May 30 to June 30 to highlight the achievements of the Modi government. The National Secretary in charge of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Y Satya Kumar and Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan are expected to guide the Jan Sanjog Yatra.
