Vice President Dhankhar highlighted India’s growing influence as a maritime power, utilizing its strategic location and infrastructure to lead global maritime initiatives, such as the SAGAR initiative for regional stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed a message emphasizing India’s strategic position in the Indian Ocean and its rich trade and cultural heritage. He expressed confidence that the conclave would pave the way for establishing India as a global maritime hub. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reiterated the government’s commitment to preserving maritime heritage through projects like the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal.

It emphasized the country’s historical significance in global maritime trade and its efforts to strengthen international collaborations for regional stability.
