VINSSEN Co., Ltd, a specialist in maritime decarbonization technology focusing on hydrogen fuel cells and supporting systems, has successfully completed BV’s rigorous performance tests, marking a significant milestone in demonstrating the feasibility of hydrogen fuel cell systems on commercial vessels. The company delivered a customized 60kW PEM Fuel Cell System with key components such as a Fuel Cell Module, an integrated converter module, a battery system, and a transformer, along with a user-friendly interface for vessel operators.
Seok-Hee LEE, VINSSEN’s Project Manager, highlighted the challenges faced during the project, which were effectively addressed by the project team and trial partners. This success signifies a major advancement in providing the maritime industry with solutions for carbon neutrality through hydrogen fuel cell technology. VINSSEN’s recent achievements include Approval in Principle Certification from Korean Register for its Maritime Fuel Cell Power Packs and Type Approval for a Lithium-Ion Battery System, as well as delivering Korea’s first fully battery electric passenger ferry.
Furthermore, VINSSEN recently secured a significant investment in a Series C funding round, earmarked for product development, market expansion, and key personnel recruitment. To support international growth, the company established a branch office in Seattle and entered the North American market. The ongoing trial project in Singapore, in collaboration with industry partners like Shell Singapore, Seatrium Limited, Penguin International Limited, and Air Liquide Singapore, underscores VINSSEN’s commitment to advancing sustainable maritime technologies.
