The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has reached a significant milestone by handling 55 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo in just 249 days, surpassing previous records. This achievement puts VPA on track to meet its annual target of 90 MMT for the fiscal year 2024-25. The success of the port is attributed to collaboration between various stakeholders, including state and district administration, public sector entities, and industry partners.
Chairman M. Angamuthu of VPA expressed gratitude for the support and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration for future success. VPA is dedicated to aligning itself with the Prime Minister’s Maritime India Vision 2047 and the Chief Minister’s Swarna Andhra Pradesh 2047. The Port Authority is actively developing a comprehensive master plan to promote industrial development and contribute to the region’s economic growth.
