Transport Minister Abdul Wahab Al-Durra confirmed Yemen’s dedication to ensuring the safety of maritime navigation in the Red and Arab seas, excluding Israeli, American, and British ships. He emphasized Yemen’s commitment to international peace and security, except for those countries involved in aggression against Yemen. Al-Durra stated that Yemen poses no threat to ships passing through the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red and Arabian Seas, except for those ships associated with the aggressor countries.
The Minister linked the decrease in ship crossings through the Red Sea and Suez Canal to the militarization of the Red Sea by the US and UK, as well as their violations of the sovereignty of countries bordering the Bab al-Mandab Strait. He highlighted Yemen’s decision to prevent Israeli ships from passing through the Red Sea due to the ongoing aggression and atrocities in Gaza, with American and British ships also included in this ban.
Al-Durra emphasized Yemen’s right to respond to the American-British aggression and its support for the people of Gaza by preventing Israeli ships until the aggression ceases, the siege is lifted, and humanitarian aid can enter. He called for an end to the aggression and emphasized Yemen’s stance against the violations of international maritime laws by certain countries in the region.
