MITSUI E&S has successfully commercialized large ammonia-fueled marine engines, becoming Japan’s first manufacturer to achieve this. In February 2026, it conducted successful land-based tests of its ammonia dual fuel engine, verifying compliance with IMO’s NOx emissions regulations. The company plans to expand facilities to meet growing demand for sustainable fuel alternatives.
