
Cargo Ship Runs Aground Near Crete, Crew Rescued
On July 24, the MN Kostas, a 5,800-ton cargo ship, ran aground off Crete. The Hellenic Coast Guard swiftly evacuated 14 crew members and launched rescue operations. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and there were no signs of sea pollution. Investigations led to the detention of the captain and Bridge Watch Officer.
