
Italian Coast Guard Launches Search for Missing Migrants
The Italian Coast Guard has launched search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean after discovering two migrant boats. One sailboat has 64 missing, 11 rescued, and one fatality. Another boat had ten bodies recovered, with 51 people saved by a private agency. The operation involved merchant ships, aircraft, and patrol boats, with assistance from the EU Coast Guard Frontex and German aid group Resqship.
