First Mid-Sized Ammonia Carrier Ordered by Japanese Company
A Japanese consortium, including NYK and Japan Engine, has reached the point where they can begin building one of the first ammonia-fueled carriers in the world. The vessel, expected to be completed by November 2026, will have a transportation capacity of 40,000 cbm of ammonia fuel and be powered by an ammonia dual-fuel two-stroke engine.
