ONE Implements Emissions Trading System Surcharge for EU Compliance
Starting October 1, 2024, Ocean Network Express (ONE), a Singapore-based shipping company, will implement an Emissions Trading System (ETS) surcharge in response to the EU’s decision to include the maritime industry in its emissions trading scheme. This mandatory surcharge aligns with the EU’s goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the shipping sector, addressing the industry’s significant pollution contribution.
