Japan Imposes First Ever Ship Suspension on Tokai Kisen
Tokai Kisen Co. has become the first Japanese company to face a 20-day ship suspension due to safety violations. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism suspended three vessels, including the Tachubanu Maru, after uncovering serious operational negligence and a troubling culture of alcohol consumption among crew members.
