New Wide Barge Design Aims to Simplify Turbine Substructure Transport
Researchers at SINTEF are developing a wide barge to transport heavy substructures for offshore wind turbines. Weighing thousands of tonnes, these substructures can now be moved using innovative methods. Collaborating with Aker Solutions and others, they aim to transport multiple units simultaneously, enhancing Norway’s offshore wind supply capabilities.
