Volunteer divers say they have found the wreck of the SS Cornwallis about 122 metres deep near Mount Desert Rock, some 40 km off Maine in the Gulf of Maine. The Canadian-operated steamer was sunk by U-boat U-1230 in December 1944, killing 43 of the 48 people on board.
