A tragic incident occurred at a maritime academy in Calamba City, Laguna, where a cadet lost his life after being ordered to exercise as punishment by a senior officer. According to Super Radyo dzBB’s Luisito Santos, the Philippine National Police Regional Office 4-A (PRO-4A) reported that the cadet, identified as Andrew, was instructed by suspect Nathaniel to report to his cabin for committing a violation.
Andrew was directed to engage in physical activity as a form of punishment, but unfortunately, he experienced shortness of breath and lost consciousness. Despite being rushed to the infirmary and later transferred to the Global Medical Center of Laguna, he was declared dead upon arrival. The victim had just finished dinner when the incident occurred, as revealed by the Calamba police.
The suspect has been turned over to the city police for further investigation and appropriate actions. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals, especially in educational and training environments.
