MarinePALS, a maritime e-learning company, has received an innovation endorsement certificate from ClassNK, making it the first maritime training provider to achieve this recognition. The award is given to companies that offer innovative concepts and services supported by accountable standards for emerging technology. The company’s Digital Learning Management System allows it to provide hands-on training in short, manageable modules, designed to fit into the lives of seafarers. Users have access to interactive training videos, gamified learning experiences, surveys, and virtual reality scenarios.
According to MarinePALS CEO Captain Pradeep Chawla, the company aims to offer engaging and fun training content that still delivers high-quality learning, ultimately leading to reduced accidents and losses, as well as the prevention of deficiencies in PSC, SIRE, and Rightship. Chawla, who retired from shipmanager Anglo-Eastern after 39 years, founded MarinePALS last year. He also serves as the chairman of GlobalMET, an association of maritime education and training providers.
The company’s focus on micro-learning, gaming, and virtual reality aims to provide content that is more engaging and appreciated by seafarers, ultimately improving the quality of maritime education and training.
