CSL has announced the construction of a new electric hybrid boat, the 13th 100-passenger vessel for Kochi Water Metro. With 12 boats currently in operation, the addition of the new boat is intended to expand the water metro services in Kerala. The state-of-the-art ferry is designed to provide commuters with efficient, eco-friendly, and comfortable transportation through the waterways, equipped with technology to reduce emissions and minimize environmental impact.

The availability of more boats is expected to enable Kochi Water Metro Limited (KWML) to offer services on new routes, including plans to start services between High Court and South Chittoor in the coming weeks. Earlier, KMRL authorities had stated a need for at least three more boats to start service in the South Chittoor sector. The new electric hybrid boat represents a commitment to sustainable and efficient public transport in Kerala, offering a greener alternative for commuters and helping to expand KWML’s reach to new areas.
