Belgium-based tanker operator Euronav’s CEO, Hugo De Stoop, has resigned after almost two decades at the company, including four as CEO. CFO Lieve Logghe will serve as interim CEO during the search for a permanent replacement, while also remaining in her current role. De Stoop will stay on as a senior adviser until his successor takes over.

De Stoop joined Euronav in 2004 and worked his way up to become CFO in 2008 and CEO in 2019. He stated that he was grateful for his time at the company and felt that with a new board and strong shareholder representation, it was the right time to move on. Euronav is a leading tanker operator with a fleet of 76 crude oil and refined product carriers, including four newbuild very large crude carriers (VLCCs).
