The European Union Agency for the Space Program (EUSPA) has announced a new funding scheme grant under the Fundamental Elements program to support the integration of Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) in maritime positioning and navigation solutions. This grant aims to enhance the accuracy and performance of maritime receivers by incorporating Galileo HAS technology into vessel navigation equipment.
Galileo HAS offers decimeter-level high accuracy, making it a significant technological advancement for applications in waterborne transportation and engineering operations. The introduction of Galileo HAS has the potential to improve efficiency and safety in these sectors by providing a higher level of accuracy than the Galileo Open Service currently offers.
EUSPA has opened a call for proposals for the design, development, testing, and demonstration of a GNSS positioning/navigation solution integrating Galileo HAS receivers for maritime use. Interested parties can find more information about the call and submission deadline on the EUSPA website. Additionally, EUSPA is organizing an industry day webinar on July 9 to provide detailed information about the grant opportunity.
