MediaMobil, a telecommunications company specializing in providing internet to remote locations, has partnered with Eutelsat Communications to supply maritime connectivity for ships and off-shore vessels. Eutelsat will provide its Advance managed service to connect MediaMobil’s fleet of over 100 multipurpose, tanker, and offshore construction vessels. This deal marks a shift towards a service leasing agreement and is in line with Eutelsat’s strategy.

MediaMobil has been a long-time customer of Eutelsat, and the new service license agreement will allow MediaMobil to enhance its position as a provider of premium VSAT services while reducing bandwidth costs for users. The agreement will also enable MediaMobil to develop integrated multi-orbit satellite services in conjunction with the LEO system, providing a unique quality-of-experience to their customers. The CEO of MediaMobil, Andreas Nil, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and its potential benefits.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but this marks Eutelsat’s latest success in the maritime segment for Advance, following a recent deal with Can Marine Systems for satellite connectivity in the Asia-Pacific region.
