A fishing vessel capsized in the Indian state of Kerala on Monday 10 July, resulting in the death of four individuals. The incident occurred at the entrance to the port of Muthalapozhi due to strong waves, as the boat was returning from its fishing activities. One crew member was discovered dead shortly after the capsizing, while the other three victims were initially reported missing. Unfortunately, their bodies were recovered from the same waters the following day. Search and rescue teams from the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and local police found two of the deceased fishermen near the port’s breakwater, while the third was found in a nearby lake. This tragic event has sparked ongoing protests from the families of the victims and local residents, who blame the government for its alleged failure to provide adequate support during the search and rescue operation.
