Dubai-based commercial product and chemical tanker operator Gulf Energy Maritime has announced its return to HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea for the construction of more MR vessels. The 50,000 dwt units are scheduled for delivery in 2026, with the vessels to be named Gem Daniela and Gem Delilah. The exact price of the vessels has not been disclosed.
Established in 2004, Gulf Energy Maritime is a joint venture between Dubai’s Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Abu Dhabi’s International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), the Oman Oil Company (OOC), and Thales of France. The company currently operates seven ships and has six MR newbuilds at Hyundai Mipo set for delivery within the next two years.
The expansion of Gulf Energy Maritime’s fleet underscores its commitment to growth and meeting the demands of the shipping industry. With a strong presence in the market, the company continues to strengthen its position as a leading player in the commercial tanker sector.
