Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree recently reported two incidents, including an attack on the USS Mason, a U.S. warship involved in taking down Houthi attacks. U.S. and EU efforts against the Houthis may be affecting their capabilities and weapons stockpile. The U.S. Central Command confirmed the Mason’s involvement in intercepting anti-ship missiles and drones launched by the Houthis.

EUNAVFOR Aspides data shows U.S. and EU forces have taken down 13 drones and missiles in the past week, with one additional drone crashing. The latest targeted vessel, referred to as “Destiny,” was attacked due to stopping at the Israeli port of Eilat, as per the Houthis. The U.S. representative at the UN Security Council meeting emphasized the impact of Houthi attacks on potential peaceful resolutions in Yemen.

Several Security Council members called on the Houthis to cease attacks on vessels, highlighting the importance of security for peace. UN officials stressed the need for dialogue and diplomacy to achieve a political settlement in Yemen. Efforts are underway to restart a roadmap for a negotiated settlement, led by Saudi Arabia.
