IIT Madras has launched a new 24-month MBA program in Digital Maritime & Supply Chain, the first of its kind globally, in collaboration with industry partner i-maritime Consultancy. The program aims to equip professionals with the skills needed to navigate the digital landscape of maritime trade and supply chain management. Applicants need a Bachelor’s degree, at least two years of work experience, and must pass the IIT Madras Admission Test and personal interviews. The first batch will start in September 2024.
The program, directed by Prof. V. Kamakoti and chaired by Prof. K. Murali, offers a comprehensive understanding of digital technologies’ role in optimizing operations in maritime and supply chain industries. Prof. M. Thenmozhi from the Department of Management Studies highlighted the program’s focus on integrating digital technologies like cybersecurity, data analytics, and blockchain. The MBA program consists of 900 classroom hours, with access to IIT Madras’ resources including the Digital Maritime Library.
Program Director Ramesh Singhal stressed the program’s transformative nature, providing professionals with cutting-edge skills in digital technologies. Key features include a blended learning approach, alumni status, innovative pedagogy incorporating AI, ML, IoT, and Blockchain technologies, career support, and networking opportunities. The program fee is Rs 9 lakh, with scholarships covering up to 50% of the fee and bank loans available.
