Omani Maritime Security Rescues 20 Crew Members After Vessel Sinks Near Salalah

Muscat: The Omani Maritime Security Center reported the successful rescue of 20 crew members after the commercial vessel Phoenix 15 sank southeast of Salalah’s coast.

The incident occurred approximately 20 nautical miles from Salalah, where the Phoenix 15, registered under the Comoros flag, encountered difficulties leading to its sinking.

In response to the emergency, the nearby commercial ship Gulf Barka promptly intervened, managing to rescue all crew members aboard the distressed vessel.

The swift action of the Gulf Barka highlights the effectiveness of maritime safety protocols in the region.
