The Indian Coast Guard has expanded its operations in the Arabian Sea following a drone attack on a merchant vessel. This includes an increased presence of offshore patrol vessels and a 50% increase in Dornier aircraft sorties over the area. The Indian Coast Guard ship ICGS Vikram was the first to make contact with the MV Chem Pluto, which was hit by the drone attack 217 miles off the Indian coast, resulting in significant damage to the vessel.

To prevent further attacks, the Indian Coast Guard has increased the presence of offshore patrol vessels equipped with ALH Dhruv helicopters to sweep the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) for any suspicious activity. Additionally, maritime surveillance aircraft sorties have been increased to provide protection and confidence to merchant vessels operating in the area. The crew of ICGS Vikram was the first to board the MV Chem Pluto after the attack to assess the damage caused.
