A joint venture called Wisdom Synergy Ship Management (WSSM) has been established by Synergy Marine Group and Wisdom Marine Group to improve the administration of dry bulk tonnage. Key operational centers for WSSM will be in Taiwan and India, with its headquarters in Singapore. Wisdom Marine, established in 1999, boasts a vast fleet, including over 100 bulk carriers, and the new venture is set to increase its fleet’s operating safety and efficiency by utilizing Synergy’s experience.
The cooperation between the two companies is based on mutual respect and shared objectives, with a focus on crew welfare and sustainable practices. The joint venture comes after Wisdom Marine decided to give Synergy partial control over its fleet management in 2022, and it is in line with the industry trend of large shipowners creating joint ventures for ship management to maximize operational effectiveness and knowledge sharing.
The founder and CEO of Synergy Marine Group, Rajesh Unni, expressed pleasure in collaborating with Wisdom Marine Group, while Wisdom Marine’s CEO, James Lan, highlighted the importance of crew welfare and sustainable practices. The formation of WSSM is expected to significantly influence the shipping sector, with the aim of improving operational effectiveness and knowledge sharing.
