JSW Infrastructure recently announced a partnership with the Karnataka government to develop a greenfield port project in the state. The project, valued at Rs 4,119 crore, will be carried out by JSW Infrastructure’s subsidiary, Masad Infra Services Pvt Ltd, in collaboration with the Karnataka Maritime Board. The company has received a letter of award for the development of an all-weather greenfield deep-sea port at Keni Port in Karnataka, to be executed on a public-private partnership basis.

The Keni Port project is aimed at creating an all-weather, direct-berth, multi-cargo, greenfield deep-sea commercial port capable of handling various types of cargo on the West Coast. Positioned in the North Karnataka region, the port will serve industries in areas such as Bellary, Hosapete, Hubballi, Kalaburagi, and southern Maharashtra. Strategically located between two major operational ports, Mormugao Port to the north and New Mangalore Port to the south, the proposed Keni Port will provide essential infrastructure for the region’s economic development. JSW Infrastructure, part of the JSW Group, is a prominent port-related infrastructure company with a current cargo handling capacity of 153.43 million tonnes per annum across its ports and terminals.
