Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) is set to trial Inmarsat Maritime’s new bonded network service NexusWave on its fleet later this month. Akihiro Fujimaru, Managing Executive Officer of “K” LINE, emphasized the importance of fast, reliable, and global connectivity services for data transmission to enhance safety and quality onboard. He also highlighted the significance of high-speed internet for improving workstyles and automated ship navigation, as well as maintaining crew well-being by enabling connections with family and friends.

NexusWave from Inmarsat Maritime, a Viasat company, is a cutting-edge technology that seamlessly integrates multiple high-speed networks in real time to enhance ship-to-shore communications. Launched in May 2024, NexusWave offers high-speed connectivity, unlimited data, global coverage, and secure infrastructure for office-like and home-like experiences. The service integrates Global Xpress (GX) Ka-band, low-Earth orbit (LEO) services, and coastal LTE service, ensuring fast and always-on connectivity with enterprise-grade firewall security.
