Kongsberg Maritime has expanded its Jet Control System to include the larger S-series stainless steel waterjets, offering improved maneuverability and easier installation for vessels up to 50 meters in length. The system, already available on the S3/CA steel series and the A5 aluminum series with over 100 installations, will now be compatible with the S4-series waterjets commonly used on ferries, super yachts, and coastal patrol vessels.
This Jet Control System is designed to control waterjet steering, reversing bucket, and optional interceptor functions, accommodating up to three control stations and operating with twin, triple, or quad steerable waterjet installations. The integrated feedback signals ensure maximum accuracy in operating the waterjet hydraulic valves. Fredrik Appel, Director Products – Waterjet systems at Kongsberg Maritime, highlighted the system’s easy installation process, standardized solutions, and factory-tested calibration, making it an attractive choice for new build projects.
Each control station of the system features a high-contrast 7” display with dedicated views for detailed information on specific functions. The bridge design includes updated ergonomic features like joystick and armrest integration, while a service access solution provides high-level Kongsberg support and enhanced alarm traceability. With a commissioning and start-up duration of one to two days, the Jet Control System offers a convenient and efficient solution for vessel operators.
