Mercury Marine unveiled two new electric outboard motors, the Avator 75e and 110e, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. These new models are the company’s largest electric outboards, offering more power for higher performance and larger vessels. They join the previously unveiled Avator 7.5e, 20e, and 35e, rounding out the company’s five-model lineup and opening new opportunities for electric boaters.
The Avator 75e produces 7.5 kW of propulsive power, while the larger Avator 110e produces 11 kW. At full throttle, both models provide approximately one hour of run-time per charge, which can be extended to 2-3 hours at 75% throttle. The batteries are swappable, allowing for longer outings. Pricing details for the new motors have not yet been released, but the full product launch is expected in mid-2024.
Electric boats, especially on the smaller end, have seen rapid growth in recent years. Mercury’s Avator line now offers a wide range of sizes, while other electric outboard manufacturers have also been introducing versatile options, contributing to the growing market for light electric boats.
