The rural town of Mundra has undergone a transformation in the last 25 years, thanks to a large investment of 70,000 Crore by the Adani Group. With the development of ports, solar and wind turbine plants, and a proposed copper smelter, the town is buzzing with activity. This investment is expected to create 35,000 jobs in the next six years, with an estimated investment of Rs 3.5-4 lakh crore.

Mundra port, which is set to receive a new copper cargo worth ₹8,783 crore, is currently busy. Adani Enterprises’ subsidiary, Kutch Copper Limited, is seeing a lot of activity as well. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. plans to expand its Mundra port, including the construction of new container terminals and oil supertankers. Additionally, a $34,000 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) project is planned, aiming to develop a petrochemical cluster in the region.

Alongside these developments, Adani New Industries Limited has established a solar photovoltaic manufacturing facility with a capacity to generate 4 GW of power. The company plans to expand this capacity to 10 GW. Currently, the facility produces 10,500 solar modules, utilizing Mono Perc technology, but they plan to switch to Topcon technology, which will allow them to produce 640 watts. Most of the solar panels produced in Mundra are exported to the US, while the rest are sent to Gujarat’s Khavda desert for the world’s largest hybrid power park project, capable of generating 20 GW of green energy.

Overall, the investment by Adani Group in Mundra has brought significant growth and opportunities to the rural town, with new developments in ports, renewable energy, and petrochemical industries. The expansion of the Mundra port and the establishment of a solar photovoltaic manufacturing facility are set to create thousands of jobs and contribute to the region’s economic growth. The ongoing developments highlight the commitment of Adani Group to promote sustainable and green energy solutions, both locally and globally.
