Ultimate Boats, owned by Manx ExoTechnologies, is a boat manufacturer based in Glasgow, Scotland. The company specializes in producing commercial, tactical, and military watercraft. Last year, Ultimate Boats introduced the first fully recyclable workboat made from its patented DANU composite material for Police Scotland. They followed this up with another workboat for tidal turbine developers Orbital Marine Power. Now, the company’s CEO, Shane Mugan, has announced plans to develop a hydrogen-propelled vessel in partnership with Arizona-based RONN.

The goal of this partnership is to create a clean hydrogen electric propulsion solution for Ultimate Boats’ high-performance craft. RONN, which designs and manufactures zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles, shares Ultimate Boats’ vision of driving decarbonization and creating a sustainable future. Together, the companies aim to transform the marine industry and leave behind a legacy of clean energy.

Ultimate Boats’ workboat for Police Scotland was recently awarded Patrol Boat of the Year at the Work Boat World Awards. This partnership with RONN marks an exciting new chapter for Ultimate Boats, as they continue to innovate in marine technology and contribute to the decarbonization efforts of the industry.
