Fincantieri has secured a contract to build an ultra-luxury cruise ship for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH), to be operated by Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Scheduled for delivery in 2033, this new vessel will be a sister ship to the Seven Seas Prestige, currently under construction and set to launch in 2026. A second ship in the same Prestige Class is also expected to be delivered in 2030.
The agreement, valued between $550 million and $1.15 billion, is contingent on financing and standard conditions. The new ship will have a gross tonnage of 77,000 tons and a length of 257 meters, accommodating 822 passengers, boasting one of the industry’s highest guest-to-space ratios.
Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO of Fincantieri, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable ships that align with the evolving luxury cruise market. He noted that this contract reflects NCLH’s confidence in Fincantieri’s capabilities. As the cruise industry faces new challenges and opportunities, including enhanced environmental standards and guest experiences, Fincantieri remains dedicated to supporting its clients’ growth and the future of cruising globally.
