A 34-year-old Romanian contract worker died on 4 November while welding in a confined space aboard a cruise ship under construction at Fincantieri’s Marghera yard, near Venice, Italy. Other workers fell ill, oxygen deficiency is a possible cause, and an investigation is under way.
