SINGAPORE: Crew members aboard the Genting Dream cruise ship conducted a successful rescue in the Straits of Malacca on September 3, during a three-night journey from Singapore to Phuket. The ship’s crew spotted a small boat in distress, with an individual signaling for help.
Acting swiftly, the crew initiated rescue procedures and brought the individual onboard. Once safe, the person was provided with food, refreshments, and a medical assessment by the ship’s medical team. Dream Cruises reported that the individual is currently in stable condition and receiving ongoing care.
The cruise line is coordinating with authorities to ensure the individual’s safe transfer to shore. Michael Goh, president of StarDream Cruises, expressed pride in the captain and crew’s vigilance and professionalism during the operation.
