Celebrity Edge made its inaugural visit to Newcastle, Australia, on December 13, carrying over 4,000 passengers. This significant event highlights the growing importance of cruise tourism in the region.
John McKenna, CEO of the Port Authority of NSW, emphasized the economic benefits of the ship’s arrival. He noted that the 306-meter-long vessel and its guests would contribute positively to the local economy.
The visit offers passengers a chance to experience various attractions, including wine tasting in the Hunter Valley, encounters with Australian wildlife on the Central Coast and Port Stephens, and exploration of Newcastle’s historic sites. This stopover underscores the region’s appeal as a premier cruise destination in Australia.
