On February 17, 2026, the guests and crew aboard the Regal Princess achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Guinness World Record for the most margaritas sold in an eight-hour period. While docked in Cozumel, Mexico, they collectively sold an astonishing 3,410 margaritas, surpassing the previous record of 2,728. Princess Cruises celebrated this accomplishment, highlighting the significance of tequila, the primary ingredient in margaritas, which is derived from the blue agave plant native to Mexico.

The event was particularly fitting as the ship is known for using Pantalones Organic Tequila, which was also used to christen the Star Princess in November 2025. The Regal Princess, on a seven-night Western Caribbean itinerary, provided guests with an overnight stop in Cozumel, allowing ample time for participation in the record-setting attempt. The atmosphere onboard was festive, culminating in an official certificate presentation, complete with confetti and photographers to commemorate the occasion.

This margarita record is not an isolated achievement for cruise lines, as various unique records have been set in the past, ranging from the largest piñata to the fastest marathon run on a ship. Such events not only enhance the cruise experience but also foster a sense of community among passengers and crew.
