Royal Caribbean has introduced a new furry crew member to its fleet, naming Sailor as the chief dog officer (CDO) for its upcoming ship, Star of the Seas. This tradition follows the introduction of Rover, the CDO on Icon of the Seas, who lives on the ship with handler Alison Hubble. Rover even has her own Instagram page where passengers can follow her adventures and interactions on board.
Star of the Seas is set to launch this summer as the sister ship to Icon, offering passengers giant waterparks, slides, and a variety of dining options. The ship will feature a refreshed specialty Empire Supper Club with live entertainment and a 1930s Chicago-inspired theme. New onboard technology includes waterproof bracelets for parents to track their children’s whereabouts on the ship.
Royal Caribbean also revealed the name of its third Icon-class ship, Legend of the Seas, which will debut in 2026 with Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona. For those interested in experiencing Star of the Seas firsthand, prices for the showcase cruise from Port Canaveral to Royal Caribbean’s private CocoCay island start at £1,337 per person. Passengers can look forward to a mix of entertainment, dining, and technological advancements on board.
