Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Italy has successfully completed the float-out of the Seven Seas Prestige, a new ultra-luxury cruise ship for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ Regent Seven Seas Cruises. This vessel marks the first in a new class of luxury cruise ships for the brand and strengthens the long-standing partnership with the shipyard. Upon completion, the ship will weigh 76,550 gross tons and measure 257 meters (843 feet) in length. Notably, despite being 40 percent larger than its predecessors, it will accommodate only 822 passengers, ensuring a high crew-to-passenger ratio of 630 crew members.

The Seven Seas Prestige will feature the largest suite ever on a cruise ship, the Skyview Regent Suite, spanning nearly 9,000 square feet and equipped with luxurious amenities such as a spa bath and private gym. The ship will host a total of 411 suites, including four new categories, and will offer 11 dining options, with seven being specialty restaurants, including a new Mediterranean concept. Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer at NCLH, emphasized that this new build represents a strategic expansion in the luxury segment, reflecting confidence in the growing demand for Regent’s high-end offerings.

The Seven Seas Prestige is the first new class for Regent in a decade, following the Explorer Class, which began with the Seven Seas Explorer in 2016. Construction for the ship commenced with steel cutting in October 2024, and it is scheduled for delivery in late 2026, with its maiden voyage planned for December 2026. Regent has also placed orders for additional vessels, including a third sister ship due in 2033, highlighting the brand’s commitment to expanding its ultra-luxury portfolio.
