Great Eastern Shipping Company (GE Shipping) has successfully delivered its Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier, Jag Aarati, which was built in 2011, to its new owners. This transaction follows a sale agreement finalized in the third quarter of FY26.

With this sale, GE Shipping’s owned fleet now comprises 39 vessels, totaling approximately 3.14 million deadweight tonnes (dwt). The fleet includes 26 tankers—five crude carriers, 16 product tankers, and five LPG carriers—alongside 13 dry bulk carriers, which consist of two Capesize, nine Kamsarmax, and two Supramax vessels.

The company has indicated that it remains proactive in managing its fleet in accordance with market dynamics and its long-term strategic goals. As part of its ongoing efforts to renew and optimize its fleet, GE Shipping has contracted to acquire one secondhand Ultramax dry bulk carrier and one secondhand medium-range (MR) tanker. Additionally, the company has agreed to sell its very large gas carrier (VLGC), Jag Vishnu.

These acquisition and divestment activities are anticipated to conclude in the fourth quarter of FY26, contributing to a strategic reshaping of the company’s asset portfolio across various shipping segments.
